They no longer allow you to open listings for Facebook Marketplace in a new tab. If you try, it results in this:

Yes, all 10 or 15 of the listings I had open no longer work. Every listing has to be opened one at a time in an embedded preview screen. And it dumps you back at the beginning when you exit that preview. Eeeeew.

Just checked, it seems to be working fine for me. I can do the embedded screen, or open in new tab. That’s without logging in (I don’t have an account ).

It is things like this that make me like FB marketplace even less.  I seriously miss CL, with the recent backlash on FB I do see more traffic on CL and hope it grows back to its former self.

CL is still healthy in my area. Sure, there’s scammers, but Big Brother isn’t allowed in.

It was essentially dead here in St Louis for a while.  Cars are still dead but the rest of it has perked up a bit.  Bought some speakers off it a couple weeks ago.

Me too. CL has better search filters. Besides, finding something on FB means that I have to get somebody with a FB account to contact the seller for me (unless one of the pics shows a “for sale” sign with their phone number on it).

The search is the worst part of FB! It basically doesn’t work and it only shows you what it thinks you want to see...

It still works better than cars.com and the other, which basically show you 10 ads and 2 applicable listings per page. But yeah, CL still is the only one to get it right.

I looked at clapped out XJ Cherokees ONCE* and now it’s that all I get. Search for 350Z ... Cherokee. NB Miata... Cherokee. Lawn mower... Cherokee. Washing machine... Cherokee.

*I certainly searched for  that too many times but probably the same amount that I’ve searched for a 350Z. Does FB know that my wife will only let me spend busted XJ money on another vehicle or are there really no clean titled 350Zs left?

It also likes to keep showing me things like what I sold because I searched them once to get a price for it...

I hate FB so much - CL just has become deserted around me so if I want to sell or buy something I don’t have another option.

My wife bailed on FB a few years ago so I’ve had to hold on to mine to keep up with the odd relative or to buy random crap. I hate it.

Same here - wife doesn’t touch it and I just use it to keep up with old coworkers and buy/sell shit.
